4 Dec 06: St. Stephen's Cathedral

We visited this amazing gothic cathedral (the outside of which was pictured in the photos of the previous day) and found that a concert was being given that night. It was Mozart's Requiem, performed at midnight on the eve of his death. We were very fortunate to have this experience (even though we had to sit in the fourth row to the last, about a quarter of a mile from the front; the acoustics of the cathedral were good enough that it did not matter, though). With every movement, they turned off a section of chandeliers. Unbelievable!
