Sebi is 1!

Sebi turned one on 15 May. Sunday, Mariah made him a cake. The cake was made from carrots, banana, and sweetened with apple juice, but the frosting was whipped cream with a little bit of sugar. It was the first sucrose he has ever consumed and, as you can see, it was love at first taste. The bib is a mock Marine fatigue given to him by my mom. He has a raspberry on his head from falling on the concrete.

Sebi has developed this little game of slapping the top of his head. If you do it as well, he cracks up laughing. This game is perfect for the end of each meal when his hands are full of banana and baby food.

Bubble-icious

Here is Sebi enjoying his first bubbles.

First Fort

Why are the best toys not the ones you spend a ton of money on? Here is Sebi and our neighbor Sera playing with a staple for American children: the large corrugated cardboard box. Usually no girls should be allowed in a proper fort, but the box belonged to Sera so Sebi had to let her play.

"Hey, can I get some of that?"

"Dad, he tried to jack my snack!"

"Damn straight I did."

"This is our fortress- no parents allowed. Besides, you're standing in lava."

Johann Sebi Bach

Mariah and Sebi are in a baby music class at the San Clemente Community Center. These photos kind of stink, but they are all we have.

Grandpa Diesel & Sebi

This is a very long time overdue, but Grandpa Diesel came to visit over a month ago. Here are some pics of the two guys having a beach party.

Check this stuff out!

I know! I told them about it!

If you want to get in on this, there is plenty for you, too.

This got boring quick.

Mariah actually caught this, but you can see that the boys are not really looking at the train, but at the topless sunbather next to it. Grandpa, you can't teach him those kinds of things.

Charge!

Man down! Man down!

Glamour Photos

Why post an unreasonable number of pictures of the same person from different angles doing the same thing? I operate off of the absurd assumption that everyone else must take the same interest in my son as I do. What makes it more ridiculous is that I can recognize other parents doing the same thing. I want to say, "yes, but this is Sebi we are talking about."

This would be a good Senior photo from the 80s
